Dennis Turner is Chief Economist at HSBC, heading a team advising bankers on economic trends both within industry sectors and at national and international level.
Dennis began his career at the National Economic Development Office in Whitehall. With staff drawn from management, the civil service and trade unions, the remit was to assess the constraints impeding performance.
Throughout his career Dennis has had regular contact with policy-making bodies. In a personal capacity, he was one of a small number of private sector economists who advised the pre-Blair Labour Party. He retains high level Government contacts.
Dennis' has published several works, with topics ranging from the case for an Industrial Investment Bank to the definitive history of Fulham Football Club.
